Backyard Butterfly update!

Hello Backyard Butterfly Backers,
The factory has finished manufacturing our games and Backyard Butterfly is currently traveling aboard the WAN HAI 723cargo ship.
It departed Shanghai on October 25th and is currently scheduled to dock in Los Angeles on November 11th. Once the pallets of games are off the cargo ship, their next step is to get through customs. After that they'll fly to Detroit. ETA to Detroit: November 30th. From Detroit they'll need to make one last short trip on a truck. As soon as I can get my hands on them, I'll begin shipping games! Fingers crossed for the 1st or 2nd week of December.
Our enamel pin order arrived and they look so good. I love them! I'll include photos in the next update once I've printed the card backs.
Now to the book update. We are still working on finalizing and printing our book, Backyard Butterfly: A Kids Guide to Monarch Waystations. My honest guess is that the book will be published and ready to go sometime in March.
I'm really proud of this little book. My goal with this project is to inspire kids and their families to plant native flower gardens to support our monarch population. There's a lot of information to include and I've been working really hard to keep it cute and fun, but also to make it easy for families to jump right into native gardening. Here's a sneak peek of the official cover:
The book delay means that if you chose a reward level that included a book, example: 'Monarch Maniac', fulfillment will begin as soon as possible once the books are printed. If you chose reward levels of pins or stickers only, I will begin fulfillment in the next week or so with games only reward levels beginning fulfillment sometime in December.
The deadline for filling out your BackerKit survey has been extended by 3 weeks. I will be resending surveys to the few who still haven't filled theirs out yet.
Retail for the games will be $40 so make sure to order as many copies as you need at the discounted pre-order prices in the BackerKit store! There are only 3 weeks left to pre-order.

Backyard Butterfly: Mass Production Sample First Look

Hello Backyard Butterfly backers,
We just recieved our 'mass production sample' for Backyard Butterfly and it looks amazing!
In the time since our Kickstarter ended, our manufacturer has been working hard on the adjustments we requested after seeing and playing with our first draft sample.
I was very happy with our first draft, but we did need to adjust a couple of details to make it just right. We changed the vacuum molded insert color to better match our sky blue, adjusted the tolerance (space between) the leaf tiles and the leaf tracker board cutouts to make it easier for small hands to place and remove the leaves, and updated our art files for the box and the instructions.
All of the changes look and work great! I am so excited to tell you that we have approved Backyard Butterfly to go to print.
This photo shows the first vacuum molded insert color on the left (It's a pretty blue, just a bit too bright) and the newer more muted blue on the right.

CAMPAIGN SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED! What's next?

Hello Backyard Butterfly Backers!
Our campaign has concluded up with great success, thanks to all 108 of you!
I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported our Backyard Butterfly campaign. Your support means everything to me, and I’m excited to bring this little board game to life and spread the word about monarchs and backyard butterfly gardens.
We've just received our sticker order! They turned out great!!
So, what happens next?
- We just need to send in the final art files so our manufacturer can get started printing our game! That will likely happen in the next few weeks. I will keep you updated on shipping and delivery timelines when I know more.
- We are also working on finishing up our Backyard Butterfly Book. More on that soon!
- Enamel pins will be ordered in the next week or so.
